The spool of thread theme continues with this cute bookcase I bought. If you look closely the decorative legs are made from spools of thread. I got it at a little antique store some time ago and so I don’t have any information on it. I looked at it rather carefully and it appears that the spools were all glued together in each section. Then the shelves were laid between the sections of spools with a hole matching the spools. There is a large metal rod strung through the spools and shelves giving it increased support. Very clever of them. Of course they used wooden spools not the plastic ones you got today. And they added the scalloped edge shelves and decorative back at the top. But you can do that! I know you can.
